Static in the sub

I have been running my sub in my truck, and it seems as if the amp shut off when I turn around corners or go over a bump(yes, I know that sounds ghetto, but the guy I bought it from had it fixed and has the wires coming straight from the inside, instead of having a terminal)  but, back to the question... does anyonw know why when I have my stereo on, there is static coming through the sub, if turn it up loud, it will hit and, I guess go away, but when it is at normal listening sound and low, it is all static. Any ideas?Duke Duke

bad amp.. but anyways,, take the cover off the amp and i'll bet most of his "ghetto" connections are just that... GHETTO. try to see if you can fix 'em... if not, get a new amp

If the connections are so "ghetto" and wired as stated, jeff has it right. I would suspect that two wires are rubbing or maybe the soder on the conections may be touching two terminals. I would redo all of the connections the right way, do them clean and non "ghetto" and then make some sort of cover to keep them all safe and in their right place.
