usually if you don't have all the wires hooked up, like the oil pressure wire and battery charging indicator wire hooked up then the remote start won't work.

if i understand your quetion , you need the secondary ignition wire hooked up for the remote sart to work .

When probing with a test light a the back of the ignition switch you neen both primary and seconday ignition wires hooked up ( most cars have two ). But not Knowing what system your fitting its hard to help. ( But its sound,s strange that its shuts of with no attempted to crank you may have to ground a certain wire on some systems ( ie. the park nuetral switch ). sorry i can't help further .

Sorry , I did not notice you did mention the brand of alarm. But I am not familiar with that brand I have really only had experience with DEI , but as i mentioned earlier most systems need a wire hooked up to the park neutral switch with provides a ground when in park or nuetral. They say this is for safety but its seems stupid because if your car starts in gear then the park nuetral switch is faulty any way and would still allow the remote start to work ( I normally just hook this wire to ground. )
