hi, i have a 92 chevy lumina with the 3.1L engine. I'd like to upgrade to an HO alternator but when i done it on my older grand prix, it blew one of my fusible links down by the starter. Is there something i'm missing here on how to install these alternators??

They should install just like the factory one. Just be careful not to cause a spark with the wires when hooking them back up.

GM alternators can be upgraded with a higher output Rectifier. Just take the old one out and put the new one in. No need to buy a new alternator.
