I have a 2000 acura tl that has recently went out of warranty. I had a new leather seat installed on the drivers side by the dealer while it was under warranty. I hate my acure dealer so i try to avoid taking my car to them unless absolutly necessary. My problem is that the heater in the new seat will not work. I figured that when the new seat was installed that the dealer had left it disconnected so i got under the seat and everything was hooked up so i unplugged everything and plugged it back up. After i hooked everything back up the seat still does not heat up and the srs light stays on now. The passenger side heated seat works and i pulled the fuses and checked them and they were all ok so what can i do to get the srs light off and make the seat heat up again? Even if i cant get the seat to warm up i would really like to get the BRIGHT red srs light to go off. Do anyone know what to do ?2000 acura tl srs light -- posted image.

Well Danny I read your post so i had to register so i could reply to you. A good friend of mine had a 2000 TL and i did a complete stereo system install. I hate to tell you this but you got to go back to the dealer and get the light reset by them. I know you can buy the reset tool but its quite a pretty penny. The reason the light came on in the first place was probably because you had the key swithced to the on position while you disconected the seat, when you do that the cars computer thinks theres a problem with the built in side airbag in the seat because it didnt detect it when it was powered on. I know that sometimes you can get Autozone to reset certain lights on certain model cars but i remember in 2000 when i toke the TL i was working on to get reset they told me that they still didnt the tool to do it. Hope you get that taken care of, oh yea as for the seat if it didnt work when you got it from the dealer just make them replace it, but before you do that make sure that the Seat heater Button in the center consule is working properly because in my friends TL we had to replace those as well. Hey has your tranmission gone out yet????? The dealer replaced my friends trans 3 times.
It Can always be Done, The question is do you have the MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, you can NOT post a reply.
