Yup, looks like they may have lost it. They are gonna do a "trace". Anybody had any experiance with a "trace" Do they ever find it? It is insured but I hope I don't have to go through what I know will be a huge headache.

I had to put a trace on my HO alternator I sent back to alterstart a couple of weeks ago. They had misplaced it, but it turned up. That was with UPS though. They should be able to find it with the computerized tracking system they use.

I hope they can find it cause I will never find another one at that price. My friend in Atlanta owns a shop and he put it in a mid-life crisis man's car. Two days later the man comes back cause the W7 is too much for him. He makes an even trade for 2 Kicker Comp VRs. My buddy sold me the W7 for the price of the Kickers + install into the man's car. SWEET deal. I don't know how much $ it is insured for so I hope they find it.

Thats what I'm thinking. But I talked to my friend and he said that you couldn't tell what was inside the box, so unless they just open boxes for the hell of it, it may have just gotten sidetracked somewhere. They haven't called me yet and I think I'm about to call them.

This kind of happend to me with Fedex.  I sent an Alpine HU to my father in-law, and two months later when he didn't recieve it he called FedEX and had them trace it, well the HU was suppossed to go to Spokane, wa and somehow it endedup in New Mexico and completely destroyed 5 weeks before he called them.  No one bothered to contact him, and they even refuesed to give him the flattened package.  Luckilly the HU was on warranty and Alpine was nice enough to replace it even though they will not warranty shipping.

But still the head unit became a freaking pancake and no one bothered to notify me or him.  it was hell.

and now just 2 weeks ago, my mom sent me a package using FedEX, and they delivered it to the completely wrong state and SOMEONE SIGNED FOR IT!!!  so when I called them to yell at anyone I could talk to, they told me it wasn't their issue, that I would have to pursue fraud charges against the person that signed for it; in the mean time they refuse to give me any of their info, like the name of the person that signed for it or their address.

FedEX SUCKS!!!

Good luck man, hopefully they handle yours better than mine.
eh? what did you just say?

Ok, it doesn't look like they're gonna find it. At least they're being honest about it. The FedEx site says a claim usually takes from 5-7 business days. Anyone ever had to go through this process? Is it really that quick?? What problems should I look forward to?
