Main power source

The only dumb question is one that you don't ask. You could upgrade the alternater that's in you car now. let's say too 200 amps. And a good battery. If you wanted to get a little more power you could add a second alt. Say a 250 amp 1wire alt with it's own batt in the trunk. You could run all your audio and video powered buy the extra alt and batt, then have the your alarms, radar det , lights- neon on the main alt and batt. then you would have plenty of power for about what ever you'll want.Big Dave

As far as the wiring goes, you need to go to an auto parts store about buy a small fuseblock, one that can hold about 6 fuses. Run a large wire to it and either mount it in the engine bay by an opening to run various wires to, or under the dash wherever you want. Then you can plug into this for power to your various accessories, and they will each be fused, and you don't need to worry about power if you put a big wire to run them. If I remember tomorrow I will take a picture of what I have set up, it worked well for me. One note though, reviewing your post, my amplifiers that I will soon be installing are going to have their own power cable direct from the battery, but also fused. They are not hooked up to this fuseblock because it's not designed to handle enough current for amps, just accessories. I currently have a pair of foglights, undercar lights, and an alarm hooked up and they look clean with the wires and work well. Hope this helps and I'll try to get a picture tomorrow.
