Has anyone ever installed a second fuse box? or even heard of this being done? Im looking to make an AUX fuse box to be a central wiring hub with a little bit of proteciton for monitors, second battery, lights, power inverters, and other 12v goodies in my car. Im just trying to clean up all the wires tapped off my cigarette lighter.

hi,

yes, done it before, numerous times. you can use the stock radio's switched power lead to trigger a relay that will switch power from the battery. depending upon how much switched power you require, you may need to use an additional relay with it's coil in parallel with the first one. use 8 or 10 gauge wire to feed the fusebox. make sure to fuse this lead of course. not hard to do if you have the parts you need.

What should I use for a second fuse box? something out of a motorcycle or ATV? it only needs to have 5-10 fuse slots. Any ideas?

i'd also fuse the second battery independent of the secondary fuse box wiring.

Also has a variety of custom wiring and fuse panels to help make a clean installation.
