Power Distribution Block

OK, some quick background information on what I'm trying to do. I've got a vehicle that has a panel with 7 switches. They are connected to a box that houses all of the relays associated with the switches. My current version of the relay box has a 4-guage power wire running into a 6-way fuse block for a "disribution" block. Then the fuse block powers the relays. Well, I'm wanting to redo/upgrade the relay box. This time, instead of using the blade-type fuses, I want to use resettable circuit brakers. Don't worry, I'll be using the ones that are manual - no auto resetters for me. Those won't work with the fuse block I'm currently using. My current poroblem is that I cannot find a small distribution block that will take a 4-guage input power wire and up to 7 or 8 10-guage output power wires. I'm trying to keep this as small as possible. I was thinking about taking a strip of metal, drill some holes in it, and bolt the wires to it. Kinda like... This will be in an enclosed plastic box so I don't think fear of accidental contact will be an issue. Do you guys think this is a viable solution? If not, do you know of any alternatives that might work? Thanks. Steve

That should be fine.  I'd use some material at least 1/2 inch thick so you can tap the holes and not worry too much about stripping them out.  If you use two different metals (aluminum block and steel bolts for example), put some grease on the threads so they won't sieze (corrode) together.My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.
