Hey

Can anyone tell me what each of the dash clock wires are in a 98 Camry. I need to test a clock.

The color code is as follows:

Pink - Blue trace

Green (solid)

White - Black trace

Red (solid)

If someone could let me know what these are that would be great.

Thanks

Brad

  • GREEN = Parking light activation. This is the same as the parking light wire on this vehicle. This tests (+) when the ignition is on and 0 when off.
  • WHITE/ BLACK = This may be your dimmer wire. To test this wire rests at ground when the dimmer is all the way down. Then as you increase the intensity, the wire goes up to 12 volts at full intensity
  • RED or PINK/BLUE = One will have to be a constant 12 volts and one will have to be a ground. You will need to test all these wires prior to installing any wire to this clock. Also it will be a VERY GOOD idea to fuse the 12 volt constant wire from it's source.
These wire colors are NOT 100 % ACCURATE. This is my deductive reasoning at play here so please test all wires before installation. I used the wiring information for the light circuit to get the parking light & dimmer wire , but the other two would have to be a ground and a 12 volt constant.
