I need some help trying to convert a high level output (from the headphone output of a device) to a low level signal (RCA)mthat can be applied to the input of an amplifier.  Anypne have an idea of how I can do this without harnming the amplfier?  I was hopeful that there might be a device that can make the conversion for me.  Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Ideally, use the line out from your device if it has one.  However, a headphone jack usually does not provide too strong of a signal, and can be fed to an amplifier with a simple rca adapter.  Start with the volume low, and connect it to your amplifier.  Slowly turn the volume up on your device until you notice distortion, then turn it back down until it goes away.  From there you can set your gain.  If you're just curious to see how strong of a signal your device puts out, play a test tone and measure the ac voltage at the headphone jack- you'll see it's well within the input voltage range of your amp.
My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.
