Ok so I have been an installer for about 5 years now and I think Ive learned alot and become very well with my experience, well today my dad came over and I decided to add another remote to his avital remote start that I did about 4 years ago. This was one of my first remote starts that I had done, Remind you this has been in there all this time and worked flawlessly, never any issues. well I go stick my head under that dash and I just cant believe how messy of an install I had done. I mean there is no way that if I looked at it would I have thought I was the one who had installed it, my question for you guys is should I yank it out, reinstall it cleaner, or leave it alone since there really isnt anything wrong. I mean now when I do RSs I prewire the units making very clean harnesses to go to the ignition, kick panel, etc with wire loom and tape but this one I ran the wires where they needed to go and just zip tied them together, I am honestly embarassed at my old work, lol, what would you do?

Honestly..if I couldn't find a quick way to "clean it up"  (ties, tape etc) I would consider redoing it. Even though it is a family member it's your 'signature" on the install and you never know who else might see it.

Example, if theres a problem with the vehicle later and he brings it for service. Ok the first thing they see is a mess under the dash...I have seen them do things like refuse to work on the vehicle with such a "mess"..or remove the system and blame all the problems on it etc..so better safe then soory. Plus you know better now and have pride in your work.

jusy my opinion.

If your anything like me you will know its there and you know its not right and it will bug the cr** out of you. You can re-do it now or re-do it later when it hits you that if it was some one elses work you would fix it out of principle.
