Can someone tell me what size resistor I would need?

My boat has a 32 volt electrical system, but I can only get 12 volt gagues now.

Thanks! Dan

A resistor is definitely not the way to go.    Do you know how much current the guages need?     Radio Shack sells a 12 volt regulator that is good for 1 amp.    you can parallel them for more current.

There is a diagram on the package but if you need help let us know.

ok, a resistor could let the things work, but you'd be a lot better off with a transformer with a 3 to 1 turns ratio.
bangin old school since it was new

Transformers do no work with DC, only with AC.
Are you sure the voltage is 32v? I would think it would be 36v, which is what you get if you wire three 12 volt batteries in series. If this is the case, you can get 12 volts for the guages from one of the batteries.
