brake circuit

not sure of correct forum. farm tractor with switches on brake pedals (x2) used to engage four wheel drive when braking or to disengage diff. lock . this has 12v going to switches but know readings on other side of switch when activated. wiring diagram calls this emb. this all works how ever would like to use these switch to activate a brake light circuit.what circuit does this system have and can i use it activate a relay for brake lights?

You will first need to figure out what kind of switching the current brake switches are using.  Then, you can figure out how to interface with that signal.  You say that there is 12vdc on one side of the switch, but when you activate it there isn't 12vdc on the ohter side of the switch?  How many terminals does each switch have?  Is the 12vdc side still hot when you push the button in (12vdc at all times?)
