Hi,
Finally got hold of the Rostra Global Ultracruise and installed on my 2006 ISUZU Panther 2.5L Turbo diesel last sunday. There was a CCS100 in place before and working quite well actually, but the Ultracruise is a better upgrade and allows you to get rid of all the vaccum lines and the reservoir etc.
The old flat panel Dash switch of open type (green LED) works but the two red and brown leads have to be connected differently
I cut off the 10 pin Servo connector lead about a foot from the connector, rest of the wiring will not be required if your old CCS100 wiring is still intact.
1. The No.1 RED / brown wire connects to the brown wire from the switch (For CCS100 this was connected to ignition power)
2. Voilet connects to cold (negative) side of brake switch as before.
3. Black ground goes to chasis ground.
4. Yellow wire connects to yellow wire from the switch.
5. Brown ignition wire connects to switched ignition power. ( where the brown wire from switch connected earlier), You can use the red wire on the harness which will lead you into the cabin. This wire is now free because the red from the switch will now be connected to the hot side (positive) of brake.
6.Grey VSS wire connects to the VSS as before or signal generator.
7.Dark green wire connects to green wire from the switch as before.
8. Dark blue Tach signal wire may be grounded or connected as recommended. Make sure to leave the noise filter on the old wire in circuit. I have connected the wire and it seems to be working normally without any trashy signals. (This used to give trouble with the CCS100 and I had it grounded before)
No 9 and 10 wires are optional and may be used as required.
The 10 programming switches may be set as per your vehicle.
Please note that power to your switch now comes from the hot side of brake switch and is always ON. You will find that after using the cruise the power to the switch has to be manually switched off. The switch LED remains on if left on even if the ignition switch is OFF. This is if you connect as shown on the wiring diagram supplied with the Ultracruise KIT.
I am thinking of exploring the possibility of connecting the red wire from the switch to same place as brown wire from the servo which is the ignition power. This will allow the switch and servo power to be switched off simultaneously when the ignition is turned off.
All the wires were soldered and shrink sleeved at the splice. It may be a good idea to stagger the joints about 1/2 inch if you have extra lead on the old harness.
The installation took about 4 hours, The cuise now works right down to 30 KMPH. I have driven upto 85 KMPH with reasonably good response. I still have to make fine adjustments.
Any comments will be helpfull and greatly appreciated. I am sure there are a lot of you trying the same thing and doing things differently and better, to achieve the same goal.
Warm regards and Merry Christmas,
Bains G.
Its always better to have it and not need it, rather than need it and not have it.
