Hi there,
I apologize for asking this, but Im installing a Rostra 250-1223 cruise unit on my girlfriends 03 Kia Rio.
The electrical connections are very straight forward, but Im just curious as to how others have installed the throttle/cruise cable to the throttle body. What has been the most effective.
I have my own ideas as to how it should be, but any information, and/or photos of Kia installs would make my install a little easier.
Thanks,
Warren

I think it uses a cam style throttle. Use the wire loop contained in the kit to attach it to the barrel end of the factory cable. Use the short tie wrap to join the brass coupler to the factory cable. If the 250-1223 takes care of lost throttle motion, don't use any bead chain. This type of throttle should be covered in the install guide. Make sure that the cruises throttle cable is perfectly inline with the original so as not to pull it out the groove in the cam. If the brass coupler wants to sit on top of the groove, use pliers to spread the groove further apart so the brass piece sits down inside the groove. Don't allow any slack in the cruise cable, but don't increase the idle speed by making it too tight. If you can select different settings for the cruise through the use of dip switches, always use the lowest settings.
