I have a 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution.  I plan to install the Rostra 250-1223 electric Cruise control system.  Everything that I've read and seen online has recommended the 250-3742 Short Stalk wired switch.  They do not make a RF switch for that is a "Perfect Fit" for the car and steering wheel cowling.

I have 2 questions:

1) How do rostra switches work.  Are they just (2) or (3) momentary switches for on/Set,/Decel and  Resume/Accel?  Could I just mount 3 momentary switches in the car to take the place of the Rostra Switch?

2) Does anyone have detailed pictures of the Universal RF Switches 250-1588, 250-2035, and 250-2036 that they could send.  I'd like to know if i could modify them and maybe stick them on the wheel with doublesided tape or build a bracket from scratch.  The Rostra and http://www.brandondist.com/products/RF_switches.htm do not show the actual product or any detail of the back.

I'm trying to get the best install without just "following the heard" I am also tall, so i'm afraid that the stalk will be close to my left leg while driving.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

I will attempt to attach a photo of the car and a similar install others have done below.
