I've looked at a lot of fiberglass enclosures for speakers but I'm looking to build some type of enclosure to hold a couple of radios, speakers and sun visors. I've seen these things in catalogs like J.C. Whitney but they don't have one for my truck and I want a custom one.

Anyone have any links or ideas on how to start the form? I can visualize a speaker enclosure but for some reason am having a hard time wrapping my thoughts around how to lay this out so it contours the roof.

Thanks,

Terry

I think it would be easiest to take the headliner out of the truck, lay it upside down on the ground, tape it all off with painters tape or the like (something that won't damage the headliner material). Then lay foil down, and mat out a mold of the headliner in the areas you want the console to cover. Build it up a few layers so it won't distort at all later, then build off of that for the body of your enclosure.
I am not sure exactly you want to do with the console so I can't really give you any more detail than that. But that is how I would go about making it conform to the lines of the roof.
Cheers.

That would be a great idea but I recently threw the headliner out as it was made of that perforated fiberboard and was sagging down everwhere.

This is something like what I'm looking at doing. I would also have create my headliner or should I just buy another headline and then add this overhead?
