Currently building a fiberglass box for a 15" L7.  I'm putting a port on each side of the sub and want to kind of angle them for looks, but I don't want it to interfere with performance.  So is this a bad idea to put the ports this close to the sub or should I stay clear and by how much.

Here is a pic of my idea.  Port opening is 3"wide x 6.5"tall.

Black is the box..but mine isnt that exact shape. Yellow is the ports.  Light gray is magnet.  Dark gray is sub.

Thanks.

You should be fine with that configuration so long as the ports are at least 3/4" way from the back of the magnet.
