Hey I wanna try a project like this! Never fibreglassed in my life, so just wondering a few things: 1. I see you have made those rings and sticks/poles..how are those poles fixed to the door panel and rings? Are they sturdy? Can you make them any length you want, or are there specific calculations that need to be made for good bass? 2. When you finish applying the resin and stuff, does it make the whole thing more sturdy? 3. I don't want to end up doing this and ending up with crappy bass, so I'm also wondering, I know bass depends on the quality of the speakers, but does your front panel setup speakers give good bass? these are just mids and highs,  no bass at all so i cant really be any good help there. i dont know about bass in the doors but i do know that when you make a fiberglass box you want it to be very sturdy like enough to stand on so that the bass wont damage or crack the encloser. and for the rings they are 3/4" mdf board, the poles are dowe rods i cut them and hot glued them to the rings and door. no calculations done just made sure i put them where they would still allow the door to shut and not hit the seat. the resin just makes the fleece harden up. yes it adds some strength but not enough you get the sturdiness from the fiberglass mat i put 4 layers on this door. i never done anything before this either i pretty much learned from my mistakes and i am doing the other back door now and it is much easier.

Thanks for your reply. My current setup are stock toyota 4" speakers, which are mounted onto the door using a plastic holder. I wanna install some nice 6" Splits hehe. You've done a good job, but I'm guessing if you don't mount the door panel to the door, there will be annoying vibrations? (I know this isn't a problem for you since you're using these speakers as mids and highs) Also if you're using these speakers for bass, will you need to have a port? Thanks

not sure i never put ports in any box i have built but i have never fiberglassed a sub encloser. and i know nothing at all about putting subs in the doors. woul dbe cool though.

im going to mess around with my door panels soon, you make these to replace the factory door panel completely correct? ive seen it ways where people just fiberglass/resin over the original and thats what i was considering, but i dont know yet.

i just fiberglassed right over the factory ones if i ever change my mind which i doubt i will i will just get new ones.
