Has anyone here built a fiberglass box using a welded aluminum, stainless, or mild steel substructure? If so, I was wondering if anyone has had any adhesion problems between the glass and metal. I am thinking of building a box like this for my '99 Ram using the aluminum to form the skeleton internally and the mounting externally.

fiberglass sticks very well to almost any type of metal. just make it extremely rough before hand and clean it well with alcohol.

Thanks! I have always built MDF boxes but I have decided I wanted to build a fiberglass box this time so I was doing some research on the construction techniques and got to thinking I could build a stiff, lightweight, structure out of aluminum. Now, if I can only create time out of thin air to get this thing done, I'll be set.
