Hey guys,
This may be a stupid question, but I am going to ask anyways.
I am building a 100% fiberglass box, no mdf minus the sub rings...
sound deadening glass box? -- posted image.
I am curious if it would be a good idea to spray the inside of my box with a sound deadener or if it work against me?
I am going to be doing my whole trunk soon but I am trying to do all I can get get a super clean bass hit and with a 100% glass box I dont want any "ping" to it.
Thanks
Keith

You can never have too much sound deadening for a box. A proper thickness fiberglass box will not be hurt by spraying SD in it.
An ideal box is a box that has absolutely no flex and perfectly air-locked, so deaden away. FYI: An "ideal" box is a box made out of concrete with solid walls that are 10' thick and sealed with sealant... I never said it was a "practical" box...

Thanks,
That is what I have figured, most of the boxes I build have a high percentage of MDF so I dont really worry about it but with it being all glass, like you said cant be too thick.
