I want to get the look of fiberglass for my dashboard but without actually glassing it.  If i sprayed a filler on and sanded, painted and cleared, how would that feel in relation to actual fiberglass.  Thanks guys.

That is what you see and feel when something is fiberglassed regardless. The body filler & primer and paint are the finishing steps to almost all fiberglass projects. If you are only painting dash panels and the dash, I suggest using a flexible primer & paint.

just to let you know making your dash glassy looking and really smooth you will have horrible glaring problems from the sun. the factory dash is textured for a reason.

ignore this if it isnt a daily driver or show car.

dont paint white either....shows to much dirt.

any auto store will have paints. like discount auto.  "plasti-kote" is a good brand

Yeah, I already painted my dash silver with the plastikote stuff, and I know what you mean about the glare.  If it gets too bad then I'll just throw a towel on top of it or something.  But I was wondering where I could find PPG paints and stuff from (some type of high quality paint).

check an auto body shop. they should be able to mix up up some paint and even put it in an aerosol can for you.

the best  thing to do is not to be scared to mess with fiberglass, bondo or paint .learing by trial and error is the best way to go.    till you get what you want done.
