I made some kicks for 5.25 mb quarts and separates when the mids hit certain note it sound almost like they are blown they make a rattle like noise could this be a weak area in fiberglass or to little air space it only happens with a certain frequency and not when they hit harder notes any help would be appreciated

what frequency are the kick crossed over at?
what amp are you running to them?
are the kicks enclosed or open in the back?

they are crossed over at 150 Hz on a phoenix gold tantrum series 600.4 it is running my quartz in the rear and my quartz in the front and they are in a sealed encloser

you could be getting some resonance from the enclosure, MB Quart generally reccomends no enclosure for its mid bass and midrange speakers, so you could try cutting the backs out of the kickpanels or try to install some dynamat dynasorb mats in them or maybe some polyfill, experiment with trying to dampen the enclosure before hacking them up though.
