Hey guys it has been quite i while i have been really busy on the truck, but I am finally getting ready to completely re-do the dash in my 65 chevy 1/2 ton :) So oviosly I am making the dash from fiberglass I got that part, but for my mold I was thinking about useing urethane  foam.

Have any of you gone this route before, is the urethane easy to work with? AND most importantly where can I find it ? I have had no luck on the internet, I thought about "Home Depot" but i havent made it down there yet.

Any help is great

Thanks

Keith

I do not believe that Home Depot carries it but you can go here to buy it  http://www.shopmaninc.com/foam.html, I have not used it yet but I will in the future. Let  me know if you do and how it works for you.

Polyurethane foam can be found at any boat supply store, along with the FG and resin. (one stop shop ;) )

PF is light, but stiff, and sands easily. you can get some great results with it, if you have a lot of patience, and time.

I'm guessing you want to make something a little bit more custom than stock, so your best bet would be to make pieces of PF, put over top the stock dash, and stretch fleece or cotton over top to create a smooth, flush look.

Hmmmm, its sorta difficult to explain, but take a look at what Alpine did with their RSX.
