I am planning to redo the interior of my Jeep Grand Cherokee with fiberglass. I was wondering if anyone has seen or done a glassed Grand Cherokee or if anyone has any good tips. I have the basic ida of what I want but I was wondering how diffcult it would be to make totally new door panels. Also the ugly grey plastic cladding on the outside needs a new look. I was thinking about making molds and replacing the cladding, and the front and rear fascia with glossy black fiberglass ones. My concern is the strength.

Fiberglass is very strong, but not in when there is alot of flat areas. You would have to reenforce it with resin soaked rope. I am in the process of doing this to my doors.

when you do your door panels id suggest you go get ones out of a junk yard to redo instead of yanking the ones you have and driving around for a week with no door panels.

oh, also i havent seen any grand cherokee interiors redone myself, but im sure if you looked thru the cardomain pages for some jeeps you could get alot of good ideas from what theyve done.

thanks. I have the ideas from a lot of posts I have seen here. My wife sideswiped a pole yesteryad and broke a piece out of the cladding on the rear driver side door. I think if I remove the cladding and sand it down and glass over it I could fix the spot and get the effect I want. can I make fiberglass stick to the plastic used for the side cladding?
