Hey guys

Im new to molding, fiberglass and what not but I would like a gauge pod in my evolution and there arent any good ones out there to buy ( none that I like )

I happened to find a pic of someone taht has a nice one that i really like and im not sure if its one you can buy....how can I make something like this myself?

Is it the 3 gauge cluster on the top of the dash ? Is there a day time shot of the cluster that your interested in ?

Hard to see what the cluster looks like so close. Looks like a tripod of guages but without seeing what the rest of the gauage looks like, it 's hard to make something that will look like that. I have an idea, but I'm not sure if it will turn out like that.

its the one on the bottom of that page...that one is designed for a wrx but its the exact same thing as what I want for my evo except I would not want CF...i would paint it to match the factory interior color

in a wrx...that clips right into the factory clock but that wouldnt work in an evo cause the clock isnt there.....I would have to somehow mold the pod on top of the dash and I would need some help on how to do that too if you could

heres a better pic and i want to make mine molded into the dash becuase that one looks really bad not molded

i basically just need some source of material that i can mold and shape as i want and can harden and be durable

Go to the alpine website and take a look at the demo car install pictures (especially the Civic Si and MINI Cooper).  This will give you a good idea on how to form fiberglass to your desired shape, but you will be doing it on a much smaller scale.  Besides that, do a search on google.com.  Type in fiberglass enclosure and you're bound to find a "how to " article that will help you out.  Check out vfaq.com to see a gauge pod construction in the sail panel of a DSM.  Hope this helps!

the alpome site helped alot....basically i just cut whatever it is out of urethane foam....put fiberglass on it and sand it down to the right size and shape and im done

i think i can mold it into the dash with some sort of filler so im SET
