fleece isn't used for suppurt, its used to make the shape. Since the fleece stretches nicely it can adhear (sp?) to the different contours a box might have. the FG is what makes it strong.

thikness doesn't really matter as long as you use fleece, and not a t-shirt (ghett-O). the thicker stuff may be a bit harder to work with to get contours, but you can use whatever works best for you

thanks, but what about layers. and also how much does it vibrate? if you make it tough enough will it stay flat enough so paint wont crack?

use about 8 or more layers of 'glass to be safe

and if you use a sub that "bumps", you definately want to use more layers. it gets expencive doing glass, and if you do want to paint it, you should make each and every layer as smooth as possible, and try to get out all the air bubbles. then, grab some sand paper man, it's gonna be a fun week!

The first layer should be polyester cloth which will wrap over your frame. That's assuming you've built an MDF skeleton. The type of cloth used will depend on the degree of stretchiness needed. Use a thin material like grille cloth or pique knit for smaller projects. Use polar fleece for larger projects that have decent curves. Use thick fleece like plush felt for the larger projects/enclosures where you may not need as much stretch. Fiberglass mat goes on top of the wrapping cloth after it has been resined and cured.
