Adding Extra Layers After Fleecing?

After stretching fleece or some other material over the enclosure and that is soaked with resin...for adding mroe layers....does it matter if the extra layers are on the inside of the box or the outside????

that helped alot thanx....So the kitty hair is only used as a finishing smoothing layer....not a strength layer??? And does anyone know anything about "icing"?

Sure no problem. Yeah from what i have heard and observed kitty hair is more for finishing, although if you had dips that you knew were gunna show later in the build then i dont see why you couldnt use it in one of the base layers, it's very strong.Fortune: You will continue to take chances, and be glad you did.

Thanx for the help....do you know anything about "icing".  I've heard it called icing and i guess its for filling in pinholes or something after sanding the fibreglass..  have any more info on what this stuff is and what its used for???

Nope sorry ive never heard of it, unless its like glazing which like a gel coat or thick kinda plastiky paint kinda layer thingy, ha if that helped, basically its like high build primer, it will fill in minor, minor things and come out smooth and glossy.Fortune: You will continue to take chances, and be glad you did.

try 3M Flowable Filler....... good stuff

Put the layers on the inside if you can. Then you'll have a lot less smoothing to do. Otherwise you can put the fiberglass layers on top and then smooth it with the body filler. Fiberglass reinforced body fillers will be harder to work with but will have more strength if you need it. Otherwise use a lightweight body filler without fiberglass reinforcement. Icing is just another name for glaze. Basically it's a thin body filler that isn't prone to pinholes. It's used to cover up pinholes in the body filler layer before prime/paint.
