Ported Enclosure

On the port length calculator on this website, you are only able to figure out specs for one port. If you want to do 2 ports, can you simply cut the length of the port in half and now have 2 ports? Such as: 1 port, 3" in diameter, 8 inches long, is the same as: 2 ports, 3" diameter, and 4 inches long?

Nope, unfortunatly it doesn't work that way. It is actually the opposite, the more ports the longer it will be. Download WinISD, a pretty good box program. Certified Security Specialist

I second WinISD. Here's a link: WinISD link If you want two ports the length to area ratio must remain the same. So the larger the port area, the longer the port (for a given tuning frequency). The WinISD calculator will solve all your port woes.

so basically if you have a 2" port 4 inches long, but you want another port, just put in another 2" port 4 inches long? WinISD is awesome, but i haven't found a part on it yet that shows a design for 2 ports. Thanks for all your suggestions

No, that will double the area of your port and change the tuning. Click on the vents tab, choose the number of ports you want, the shape of the port you want, the diameter of the port you want and it will tell you the length you need. But you have to input your enclosure information so it knows what to tune the box to and what not. Here's a picture:
