Anyone have experience with installing (1 or 2) 15 inch subwoofer in the trunk of a dogge neon? I would like to install an adire tumult in a ported box with the speaker at roughly 90 degrees pointing to the back of the trunk(car). Would like at least 3.75 cubic foot net ported enclosure. Space seems a little tight and or irregular. I prebuilt a box out of cardboard to see if it would fit but it would not clear the trunk opening. I do not have the option of the back seat folding down since I have the child seat (1995 dodge neon). Any help would be appreciated do not want to get into fiberlass just yet (will be trading in the car next year).

You can build the box , then take it apart.....then screw it back together in the trunk.......no one will be able to ever steal it since they wont be able to get it outa the trunk.

Thanks for the reply. Great idea, but how would you seal it properly and how would the two separate enclosures be joined once they are in the trunk? I have built a lot enclosures (building enclosures since may 1995) just never any two piece enclosures. Again Thanks!

Can you just take the back seat out rather than folding it down?

I have thought of that possibility although the measurements from trunk floor to the underside of the deck is only maybe 12 to 12.5 inches I could possibaly get maybe 15 inches of height clearance only with extensive cutting of the rear deck material, although that still would not give me the 17 to 18 inches of height I would like.

Could anybody be able to design plans/blueprints for a 15 inch subwoofer in a ported box with tuning of 24hz and net volume of around 4.0 cubic feet to be place in the trunk of a 1995 dodge neon? The sub plans can include the sub be mounted inverted or normal.Would like the speaker be facing toward the back of the trunk (towards the rear of the car)at roughly 90 degrees(for loudness). Will pay money(say around 20.00 dollars?). Email me at shaggyscrappy@hotmail.com or you can pm me here.Tearing my hair out trying to design this enclosure! Odd shaped for sure! Not worried about using(up!)trunk space.
Thanks and get back to me!

I agree with 1st place sound... either the spare tire enclosure or a "inner qp" which actuall leaves u not only more trunk space but u can fab in ur amp rack a lil easier. good luck! peace

4 cu ft in a neon?  Without fiberglass?  and still keep the back seat?  Dang good luck.  I would definately look into a bigger car.  Or making some modifications to your current one.
