Next week i plan on making a mold of my door and making a component set up on it. Then building a box for my friend for 2 12's and 3 amps. I need to know what materials you guys suggest. Ive seen posts with people using lexan? What is that? What kind of resin do you suggest and hardener? I know ill need some rage gold. I also saw on tv a guy using "kitty hair" on top of bondo. If someone could help me make a list of everything i need it would be well appreciated....Thanks

Well here goes:

lexan is a type of plastic much like plexiglass, but more expensive and stronger.

I suggest using polyester resin, its alot easier to get a hold of. (walmart sells the stuff)The resin should come with the m.e.k. catalyst (hardner), but if not for some reason, you can go to any auto supply and get some.

Rage Gold is about the easiest to use and sand. Kitty hair is also made by evercoat it has short hair fiberglass strand in it.  I also use evercoats metal glaze as a finished surface.  It is more liquid and spreads easier for the small imperfections.

Use a good 2 or 3 part "high building" poly primer to finish it off,  it fills in all the sanding marks and even some small imperfections.

I suggest you visit www.stevebrownuniversity.com he shows some really good photos of cars hes built  for alpine and has good tips.
