new hood scoop post

Hey peeps,

i want to build a hood scoop for my car and a friends truck.  They will both be for toyotas 76 celica and 83 truck.  they are gonna be cowl induction style about two inches higher than the stock rise in the hood.  Because of that should i lay out a frame with steel straps and then use chicken wire to form the mold, or how do you think the best way to get the mold would be.  Has anyone actually completed a hood scoop and how did they hold up at high speeds.  and help would be great. thanks

this is a hood scoop i'm working on.  Its not that great of a pic as its more for the bumper...and the hood scoop is for a 2000 Cavalier.  The guy was supposed to have the money for it this month but he has apendicitis (or something like that) so that really sucks for both him and me. But i feel that it should hold up fine at highway speeds since the whole thing will be molded into the hood. 

The shape was made from green floral foam which is extremely cheap and extremely easy to shape (just be careful u dont accidentely gouge it) and then u can glass right on it without it melting and once its nice and strong u can melt the foam out with gas (scrape what u can off first though).  I got the idea off this forum and it works awesome.

I did the same thing and welded my hood also.
