how do u FG Door panels

Actually I think you can do it either way. It just depends on what you want them too look like. I believe its easier though too just cut out what you dont want and replace it with glass. Thats just my opinion though. Someone else might could help more. Learning the trade one fiberglass creation at a time!

depends on what your doing.. if you want a totally CUSTOM unique door panel *totally changing the look of it* then, you take the panel off, and then put foil on your door, and then resin over it, pull it off when its dry, then you have your base.. then you work from there, adding speaker rings, or whatever the hell you want.. and then fleece it, and glass it... hope that helps :)

I just finished doing the driver's side of my 01 Nissan Xterra...I will post pictures later...but the way I did it was take off the original, set the 6.5 inch speaker ring (I didn't bother making one because I used the ring that it came with)where I wanted it, fiberglassed over it, used body filler to make it somewhat smooth, then finished it off with spot glazing putty. ALOT of sanding just like any other FG project! good luck though, and let me know if you have any questions.

oh, I forgot to tell you, if you want to make a brand new custom one; you would take off the original one, lay tape over it, then aluminum foil, then lay about 2 layers of glass down. When that dries, you have your base; then you make a ring out of cardboard and aluminum, hot glue it around the outside edge of the mold, fill it with foam, then sand that down to whatever shape you want (just be sure to leave some room and way for connection back to the door.
