molding monitor to dash?

what is the correct way to mold my monitor into my dash. i bought some liquid plastic equivelant,some plastic cleaner, & some adhesion promoter.these are the steps i should take as far as i know: 1.sand down the dash piece to better adhere the liquid plastic. 2.apply abs to dash piece to fill in gap where monitor housing is to short. 3.clean with plastic cleaner. 4.glue monitor housing in place to dash piece & apply adhesion promoter. 5.apply liquid plastic to fill in any gaps. 6.sand down plastic & fill in pinholes with body filler. please let me know if this correct or if i'm missing anything. how thick can i build up the liquid plastic?does it matter?       Thanks for any help.

For your first step you wanna rough up the plastic pretty good so use a rougher grit paper. That way everything will stick together better in the end. The body filler needs the deeper grooves to hold on to. Go to a hobby store and ask for the Thick C/A glue with the accelerator. Use that to glue your housing to the dash. Because the accelerator will make the glue harden instantly, you won't have to wait 5 mins before you can start handleing your dash.   I always finished with spraying the dash area with the 3M texture paint and flat black. You can get that stuff from a Finish Masters or a automotive paint shop. Happy Sanding!Tell the Snap-On guy I'm not here!
