sound deadener and doors

I'm gonna try to put some raammat on my doors and have a couple of questions. I don't know if I'm gonna be able to put it on the inside of the door panel, but plan on doing the outside of the door panel. First, will this be enough? Also, do I need to cover the holes in the door or cut the mat off to reveal the holes after installing it? I have seen it both ways and I'm not sure which way is better. And last, do I need to reinstall the plastic sheet that is currently on the door from the factory? If I can, I thought about putting some on the inside of the outer door as well. There is already some on the door from the factory, but figured a little more would only help. Please advise....

You'll get less sound outside the door if you do the inside of the door also.  It's worth it IMO, even if it's just a few smaller strips.  Ditch the plastic that's inside the doors now, you'll be replacing it with the raammat.  You can leave the plastic fastener holes covered if you want, the fasteners should punch right thru when you put the panel back on.

what about the big holes that are in the door. do I leave them covered or cut the raammat and expose them.
