i want to make a custom enclosure for my subs using the whole trunk including the wheel well.... i drew something up on how i want it to look like.... (please dont laugh lol) im planning to take out the spare tire and get rid of that metal piece thats hold the tire....

for the plastic panels do i have to take them out? or leave them in place and shape the fiberglass on the panels? or should i cut the panels?

i alrdy dynamate my whole trunk will it be ok?

is mdf wood used for the top part of the box or its all fiberglass?

how much time does this usually take for a good job?

i have all tools to get it done but im totally new at this... i would pay someone to do it for me but the price is going to be to much... ive never done this before so its going to be fun... does anyone have pics that looks like something im trying to do?

thanks for any help

that shouldnt be very hard...

your pics are fine and you can work from there...i dont think you need use the spare tire well though....you should be able to hide a spare battery under one of you amps, and any other stuff you may want to hide from your system...

first step is to build boxes to spec for you L7's/ 5's what every they are....build a separate box for each sub, mount them on a false floor...only build them as tall as you want them to be in  your picture...i would mount the amps a little lower then the subs if you want some decent shape to your project though...or mount the one between the subs lower and the one at the back a little higher...

you will basically have to build boxes for your amps, the height of your amps, with no tops on them, obviously since you want a flush finish the amps will fit inside the boxes you build for them....also mount hese to the flase floor on stilts/ legs...you can use a "+" shape as a support or they might sit on the boxes of the subs..not sure how much rom you will have in there once the sub boxes are built..

you dont have to remove the plastic panels..personally i wouldnt...just build your MDF structures first...and the frame work to hold up things to what ever shape you want...then you can fiberglass the whole trunk in one piece/ more or less..might have to do it in two so you can get the pieces out..check out the sticky topic on building a fiberglass box...

seach around and ask some specific questions once you get going...

btw will there be a problem if the enclosures for each sub are different sizes by a little?

no problems unless the subs are the same..if the subs are the same so to should be the boxes...

oh and BTW the final pic you posted there..the idea you would like to follow...it is ALL MDF, there is no fiberglass in it..it would look considerably better in glass though..
