Back Seat Enclosure

My new system is going to consist of Eight 12"s mounted in a ported box built where my back seats were...I took my back seats out to see what I have to work with, and of course its not going to be easy to make a 100% MDF box...There are a lot of bumps and dips on the floor and back wall. I was thinking of just making the front, top, and sides out of MDF, and then fiberglassing the back and bottom. But #1 I dont know how to fiberglass, and #2 I have no clue how I would attatch fiberglass to MDF... Any help, suggestions would be a great, I really want to do this myself and not pay $600 to a shop This is the design I made... '89 Mercedes-Benz 300E

Blowing up in a car accident doesnt worry me, as long as I'm putting out some major dB's when I die...

ok. 1. lay down a sheet of release material in the big gap. lay down glas there. get the 'mat' wet in resin, lay it down, work the bubles out. repeat until big peice is made. now.... i would do it different. i would mount each of the rings individually, using whatever you wish as a frame (it'll be hidden). read up on the mdf ring cutting posts. there's dozens. after that, they're always followed by a section how how to set fleece down, and turning that into a nice smooth surface for painting. given the fact its an entire backseat? i'd guess 100 + bucks on glass and materials alone, not including bondo and paint. good luck. its a inspiring goal.

You may not know how to fiberglass yet. Read this post How to Make a Fiberglass Enclosure and you will have a very good visual of how to go about it. Also, not sure what you rendered that is, you should increase the lighting or choose a lighter shade for the object, it has difficult to see everything since it was so dark.I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.
