HI i have took to door card of my ford escort and cut the arm-rest out, i plan on putting new vinyl over the top of the arm-rest.

What adhesive should i use to stick the new upholstery vinyl over the factory carpeted arm-rest.  Thanks luke.

IF YOU CAN FIND HELMIPRENE ADHESIVE THATS QUITE GOOD, STAY AWAY FROM THE CANS OF SPRAY ADHESIVE, THEY PEEL AWAY AFTER A WHILE.  i FOUND A 5 LITRE CAN OF DECORATORS GLUE ONLINE FOR ABOUT £20 WHICH WORKS PERFECTLY, I CANT REMEMBER THE NAME OF THE SITE THO, IT WAS SOMETHING LIKE DECORATINGDIRECT.CO.UK BUT NOT 100%

i use contact cement adhesive from any home depot/lowes. 3m preferably it comes in a RED / black can. You can either spray it with a spray gun or apply it with a brush, for vinyl your best bet is to apply with a brush, when you want it to stick right my method is to apply at least three layers of glue to both sides( the vinyl and the panel), allowing 10 minutes between coats and after the last coat, set it and forget it that piece is never coming off. Thats how we do it at my shop down here in miami, and if it withstands miami heat, itll withstand anything....
