lcd monitor in pass airbag location

Ok so i've been picking my brain at how I can mount/secure one of my 8'' Accelevision monitors into a frame to be glassed over and then mounted in my pass. side air bag location. Here's a picture of the monitor (which has no plastic casing or bezel) from the front and the back as you can see there's no solid backing to the monitr so I'm not sure how go about making a bezel for it. Here's the location where I'm going to be mounting the fiberglassed monitor enclosure to fit where the stock passenger airbag used to be. I'll try to find some pix of what i'm talking about. Any help would be awsome! R3D

now how would I go about attaching the monitor to the wooden bezel i'll be glassing over?

here is what i propse to you.... like sandungero said, you could use the air bags as a strating point.. but the easyest way wouls be to make a completely new box for the screen. Make it out of MDF wood and the moulding of the lcd screen could be glued on the MDF. once you basic shape is achieve like you want it to.. fleece it and the FG it with resin.. bondo etc.. then paint.. plus you will have a flush mount look with the monitor.

 Make a mold of the whole in your dash with glass. make a bezel from abs plastic from a modeling shop. fasten the bezel with mdf strut ( make sure you like the viewing posision) cover with tshirt material and glass. finish with plastic body filler and sand smooth and paint. or make a mold of the hole. make a bezel of the monitor and frame with abs, and make it raise when in use with servos.information is the key to solving problems

I have a question.  I have a 97 Honda Accord, my dash looks exactly the same.  I want to mount a shuttle mini pc in that slot, then cover it, but unlike this member who would like his out, I wanted mine inside, where I could lift it, or when I learn more about linear actuators, have it pop up when the ignition turns on.  Anybody got any suggestions of how I would manage to make a mold of the inside of that compartment?

Shape a foam block until it fits inside there. Then fiberglass it so you have sort of a "tub" that sits down inside. Remove the foam, then tape off your dash, set the tub in the hole and fiberglass the lip around the hole to the tub. Once you have your mold, add a few more layers of fiberglass. You should end up with a tub that drops down into the hole and sits flush with the dash. Build off of that.
