i have an 02 Dodge Dakota Club Cab. I want to add a pair of polk audio db650's in my roof. My idea is to glass an enclosure, secure it to the roof , then re-do the headliner.
My question is what would be the best way to 1, secure the box and 2, how should i set this area up to glass.
I was thinking of making a mold of some kind then glass that mold to get the backside of the box, from which i could mount the speaker's ring and then glass this like an enclosure. Is this the best way, or what would be easier?

Your idea will work for making a form fitting box. Being the easiest way will depend on your experience and planning.

A suggestion if you don't mind though. I would glue some sort of mounting system to the cab first (MDF most likely) and then make the mold for the backside of the enclosure so that way the enclosure has something to mount to that doesn't risk the outer skin of the cab.

The key to make this work is planning. Many a project have been abandoned due to poor planning. The orphanage is getting really full, so please plan properly.       >.<

When I find that I am not in an install I am comfortable with, I find that listing each step and putting a rough sketch to paper on each step will help find the weaknesses in design and poor planning. Yes it slows me down, but in the end, I know thatmy little baby project will have a good long lasting home.
