OK, so i've been doing my FG work in a garage (because i don't have enough ventilation in my apartment) and we had a huge rainstorm. As luck would have it, the roof leaked and I think the piece I had just painted resin on got wet.
Certain areas of the piece are fine (and the resin has hardened as expected) but other areas have a white cloudy sticky residue on them and I'm not sure what to do.
I've moved the piece indoors to dry out and warm up in hopes that once the water evaporates the resin will harden (it's been in the 40s out here)
If the resin isn't hard today, (after 2 days) I don't know what I should do. Should I try to clean off the residue with acetone or something or just give it more time?

Sounds like you had cold resin to start with... meaning you didn't have enough hardener in it. The water should not be able to affect the project if the resin has been in the project for more than 90 minutes. by then it should be fine. The hardening is a chemical reaction, not an evaporative action. If your resin does not harden even after 3 hours, then it really didn't have anything to do with the water, but more a poor mixing of resin and hardener.

The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is that little extra.
