I've been running a Digital Antenna 4000 in-line amp now for over 4 years, only having to RMA the bugger once after 3 years for blowing the output on it (lock-tite is your friend). I use a passive coupler to provide a 'connection' to my cell through the dashboard mount.  I have a seperate external trunk-mount NMO antenna providing the external signal (while I have the window-patch mounted, I do not/will not use it unless the external antenna breaks).

Question:  I've seen that Wilson Electronics has been selling similar in-line and repeater-style amps, and was wondering if anyone has had experience comparing the functionality of either.

ex: I've noticed with my GSM phone that I've had significant improvement in signal quality in OOR (Out Of Range) areas previously traveled   vs.  Tower hopping/camping issues ('dropped calls' from one amp revision to another)

Thanks.

I have used the wilson ams for both dual band cellular/gsm,tdma, and nextel iden. They work beautifully. Its funny, I tried the digital antenna twice (because they were cheaper) and both times I had problems. I am sticking with wilson. They also make a good in building set up.
