Would I have to test the led first to see what resistance it has, so that i get the same size..or would it matter what size i get. Doing this to my kicker kx1200.1

Also Im wanting to wire some LEDs in my subwoofer box to shine through the plexiglass. Would I run the power of it through the remote wire so it turns on/off with everything.

it depends what colour the LED is. from there you must grb the proper resistance, but if you are only replacing the LED, grab one that is the same size and colour. as for LED in your box, you will want to run the power to a relay. the relay will be triggered by the remote wire.

relay setup

85 - ground

86 - remote turn on lead trigger
87 - constant 12v (+) fused @ 5 amps
30 - to postive wire of led set.

it will depend how many LEDS you use and how you wire them. once you determine the proper setup you are using, you can grab the proper resistor.
