Hello to everyone!
My english is little rusty, so i apologize if i spell words wrong. I have a 1998 Volvo v-40 and a while ago i changed my H4 lamps for HID (xenon). Everything worked fine without relays or anything (guess i was lucky). Two balasts, connected one side on lamps, other side to the original lamp connector (with 3 pins). What bothered me was high beam, which was not xenon, but ordinary halogen. So i got myself bi-xenon lamps, because it is ridicilous that hi beam looks like a candle light, against low beam xenon light. With bi-x lamps i have got a bundle of accessional cables attached to a little box with relays. The point is, that this lamps are charged on their own fused cable, and are only controlled through one (L or R) 3pin original lamp connector. In the end, when i mounted and connected everything, all i got was clicking sound when switched on and no lights at all! Does anybody knows what my problem may be? I think i did my work with cables good, thow it was geting dark and i did not have much time to do troubleshooting. Accessional cables that came with lamps, are: 1x positive with 30A fuse; 2x ground; 1x 3pin male connector; 2x connector to balasts; 2x thin connectors direct to lamps. Lamps: 2x connectors to balast; 1x thin connector to accessional cables.
The bi-x lamps are much bigger, on the back side they have a magnet of some kind, do not know why. Does anybody?
I wish safe driving to you all!

Well, no answers for you, my european frend! Ok, i agree, i made it very complicated. Anyway, it was a weak ground issue, but now it works perfect. No angry passing drivers and flashing. Much better then commonly used low beam xenon lamps, just a bit more expensive. Recomended!
Ciao!
