hid's cut out in cold weather

Ok Ive been messing with these HID's for 3 years now and ive tried everything I know to do, except the capacitor thing I just read about. Anyway the issue is that My HIDs dont like cold weather for one, soon as it starts getting alittle cooler outside like it is now they have a hard time firing up mainly when the car is running. If I go out there and just cut them on they will start up just fine and I can drive off after they warm up, but if I start the car first I get either a strobe light show before one of them decides to start and usually one doesnt come on at all unless I cut it on and off over and over again eventually they will start and be ok. The only other problem i seem to have and also gets worse the colder it is outside is them blinking off and back on when I hit a bump or switch gears hard or something like that, they never do it in the summer only in the fall and winter. Ive tried the kit on both of my MR2s they are now on my 2000 Spyder. I swear it depends on the weather I mean some time only in the cold cold one of them will just cut off and on randomly once every minute or so. Last time I just moved one bulb to the other side and that fixed it for a while then it got bad again so I changed the ballast to the other side and have not had that problem since. PLEASE HELP!!!

from what i know about regular HIDs, usually when the bulbs start cycling like your sayign they are, then its time to replace the bulbs.
This is just based on what i know, for all i know your bulbs could be 3 days old, and then that theroy goes out the window :)

I swore I posted the wiring back after you asked for it, guess it dissapeared? Anyway as far as the bulbs go this is the 3rd pair and they all do the same thing the older ones I had were alot worse but all of them have done them since day 1. Wiring is 1 10 gauge power wire running from the battery to the 12v both ballast are independently grounded and the turn on is one of the plugs so its just plugged in the headlight socket. Thanks in advance for any help because I have been dealing with this for years.

Where is the relay in this set up? Use the negastive turn on at the factory bulb plug to trigger a relay to turn on your lights.

O I was thinking they were talking about kits that didnt have a seperate power wire that needed the relay to turn on, so I need to put a realay between the headlight socket and the socket on the kit? Will I have to use 2 on each side because my system is High and low beam? Its the kind that moves the bulb.

Well I did the relay and it might have made it better but not perfect. One of them will still cut out at hight RPM or may not come on at all the first try. I ended up wiring them up to an out put off of my alarm so I can make sure they are both working and have a chance to warm up before I get in the car. IM guessing the next thing is to try the capacitor thing.

I went and bought some Capacitors today 4700uf and I came home to make sure i bought the right ones and the link that used to have the pic on it no longer works, searching google people say they are using 2200uf or something so which one is the right one? I also wondered if anyone else has ever had a problem with HIDs in a Toyota or if its just me? Because if its only me then im just going to give up if this doesnt work.

the cap doesnt do much but prevent it from flickering. BUT this can be avoided if you used 2 relays and got the power straight from the battery. caps are useless. i could be that the ignitor in the ballast is going.
