led drls causing head unit issues

Hi all since it is my first post I hopes this makes sense. My vehicle is a wrx 2010 and I have installed some Philips Drl 8 that turn on with the engine and which dim as soon as the Parker lights are on. The drls have 3 wires 1 attached to the positive terminal of the battery and 1 that is to the negative. The 3rd wire is tapped into the +ve wire of the Parker lights and has a box that knows when the lights are on and when to dim the lights. My issue is since the install my headunit thinks that's the lights are on and is dimming the unit. This is quite annoying as the navigation maps are Constantine on night mode. I assume that it senses the draw from the drls as when the car is in acc mode and the drls are not on the nav is in day mode. Any ideas and how I might rectify this. I was thinking adding a diode to the tap on the Parker but really have no idea. Any ideas. Thanks

You can try running that 3rd wire thru the firewall and connect it to the (-) parking light wire under the dash via a relay. You don't want to connect that 3rd wire direct to the (-) parking light wire as it could blow a fuse. Parking Lights      BLACK/ white     (-)      BIU, gray 26 pin plug, pin 11 Notes: The BIU (Body Integrated Unit) is under the driver dash, to the right of the steering column. Wire the relay like this: Pins 85 & 87 - 12v constant Pin 30 - to the 3rd wire from the DRLs Pin 86 to the BLACK/ white parking light wire at the BIU If the dim function of the HU is caused by the draw from the DRLs, this should isolate the issue since it's feeding off the ground signal from the parking light switch.
