2010 prius fog lamp

Hello I had a pair of foglights installed follow instruction. Everything works good. However, I would like make a modification where the fog lamps will turn off when i switch on Highbeam. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this? Thanksdcd

If you have the foglights with the switch inside, you can take the hot lead of that switch and cut it and place each end on a relay that's triggered by the high beam wire. Relay setup is Pin 85 - constant 12v Pin 86 - High beam (-) trigger wire Pin 30 - one end of cut wire from fog light switch Pin 87a - other end of cut wire from fog light switch Pin 87 - No Connection Headlights-Hi     PINK     (-)     AT MAIN BODY ECU NEXT TO FUSE PANEL BEHIND LEFT SIDE OF DASH

Forgot to mention, please fuse the 12v Constant wire to the relay. A 5-10 Amp fuse should be sufficient.

My relay has only 4 pins, without 87a, can't I just use 87 in place of 87a?dcd

It sounds like you are referring to the relay that came with the fog light harness. I was referring to a new relay that would work with the current setup.

On a standard 5-pin relay, Pin 30 is the common pin that connects either pin 87 or pin 87a to it. When the relay is not energized (via pin 85 & 86), it keeps pins 87a and pin 30 connected. When the relay is energized, it then connects Pins 87 and 30. We want a scenario where the relay energizes or triggers when the high beams are used. Therefore, you would want to use the wire that powers the fog lights and cause the new relay to "cut" the connection when the high beams are turned on by having pins 30 and 87a to separate.

I got it, i wired the 87, instead of 87a. I have only 4-pin relay. It works now, thanksdcd
