I got a blinking red LED for my alarm, it works fine but blinks to fast. Can I slow down the blink rate, if so, how?

Did the alarm come with an LED?
How have you connected the blinking LED?

No the LED didn't, I have it connected to the positive lead since the alarm didn't come with one, don't ask me why. As I said it works fine but the LED has a set blink rate and I just need to slow it down.

I believe the alarm already ouputs a pulsatingsignal. In this case, try a regular 12v LED, not the blinking kind.

Ok, but what if I just hook the LED up to the battery, how would I slow it down then? I fixed the alarm light but want to know this solution as well.

In that case I don't think you can slow it down.

Oh well, it doesn't blink that fast any way.

Maybe this will help........

Most alarms have set speeds for which the light blinks to indicate if the alarm is armed, or disarmed. Some anti-theft led's don't blink at all when it's disarmed, and when they're armed, flash rapidly for a few seconds, then slow down to a steady pace. If it's a factory alarm, look in the electronics section of the owners manual for the vehicle, it's usually explained in there.
