I have installed driving lights on my '92 camry. They work fine, but I want to take the install one step further. My camry has the feature where the lights shut off automatically when the door opens, in case you forget. It's not the same as daytime running lights like some people have said, because the lights are on at full brightness all the time. True DRL's come on only at 80% and have an optical sensor to turn them on full at night, or they do when you turn the switch on. This system is just a dummy safeguard, so people don't run their batteries down as often. Anyway, this comes in very handy, and often I just leave my lights on all the time. I would like to find a way to wire my relay that controls my new lights into the system that shuts off my headlights. I am thinking that the wiring that runs between the combination switch and the integration relay would be somewhere to look. I was thinking I could find the power to the combination switch, as this should be the power that is shutoff when the door opens. Am I headed the right direction? Am I way off base? Can someone steer me in the right direction? Thanks
Tis better to be thought a fool, than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt

Just tap the on/off + pulse instead of on the switch to the light relay output then they'll shut off when the lights do.

Do it right the first time or don't do it at all.
