Frist off, this is my first time doing an install like this so i just thought that i'd confirm my plans before going ahead...

I'm planning on running footwell cold cathodes from oznium.com and i'd like to have them come on with the interior lights . Where is the best place to install the realy to turn them on/off? I was thiinking just inline with the existing lights, when they come on they will trip the realy turning the cold cathodes on, correct?

BTW the car is a '99 Grand Am...

yes but cold cathode lights dont take much joice so depending on the number of lights you may not need a relay. it would be safer but not 100% nec.

relay hookup with ground trigger

pin 85 ground door trigger wire

pin 86and 87 constant fused at 10 amps

pin 30 output to cold cathode lights

pin 87a not used

possitive door trigger

pin 85 input from door trigger

pin 86 ground to chassis

pin 87 12 volt fused

pin 30 output to lights

pin 87a not used.

Thanks for the quick response! I know i could do it via the door trigger, but i was wondering if i could just use the wires going to the existing footwell lights to trigger the relay...Would this work?

I used alot of cold cathodes in an H2 and fed the invertor directly from the interior light harness at each door,,,they don't require much power at all,,,
